United for Literacy is a Finalist at the CharityVillage Awards

Nov. 14 2023

At United for Literacy, we're dedicated to advancing literacy. We work closely with educators, community leaders, learners, and volunteers to make a difference in communities all over Canada. Our commitment runs deep; we continually improve our literacy programs, advocate for educational fairness, collaborate with our partners, and work to empower people of all ages. From creative learning tools to innovative projects, we are always finding new ways to achieve our mission: a world where everyone can access the life-changing benefits of literacy. Explore our literacy programs and resources to see the positive impact we're making in communities across the country.

Each year, CharityVillage recognizes organizations for their mission, purpose, community, and recruitment initiatives at a Conference and Awards event. United for Literacy is pleased to be a 2023 finalist for the Best Non-profit Employer—Youth Advancement (20+ staff) award in recognition of our efforts around intern and volunteer engagement across the country. Giving young people meaningful work and volunteer opportunities is a priority for United for Literacy, as explored in this article about engaging youth, written by United for Literacy President, Mélanie Valcin, in partnership with Megan Conway, CEO of Volunteer Canada, and Franca Gucciardi, CEO of the McCall MacBain Foundation

CharityVillage is a career resource for charities and non-profits in Canada, offering job listings, articles, tools, resources, and other items in support of working for good. All award recipients will be announced on November 29, 2023.
