A lasting connection. A lifelong impact.
The Literacy Ambassador Club is a national network of former United for Literacy volunteers, camp counsellors, Labourer-Teachers, interns, learners, and staff with a continued interest in literacy and community engagement. Whether you were involved last summer or several years ago, your time with us matters, and your impact doesn’t have to end when your placement does. This club was created to keep that connection alive.
But you don’t need to be a former participant to join; anyone with a passion for literacy and a desire to make a difference is welcome. If you believe in the power of reading and learning to transform lives, the Literacy Ambassador Club is a place for you, too. Together, we can build a vibrant community of literacy champions who create lasting change.
We are proud United for Literacy, formerly Frontier College, literacy advocates—people who’ve contributed their time, energy, and heart to helping others build literacy skills. We’re educators, mentors, learners, and advocates. And we believe that by staying connected, we can amplify our shared mission across the country.
As a Literacy Ambassador, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Whether you’re looking to stay engaged, build your network, or continue supporting a cause close to your heart, the Literacy Ambassador Club is your space to do it.
We’d love to have you with us. Become a Literacy Ambassador.
Get in touch to share your own story. We want to hear from you.

Being part of the United for Literacy team has been a valuable and meaningful experience for me and I enjoy knowing that the small part I played may have had a huge impact in the London community.
Ornela Kljakic, Volunteer Tutor, London
Frontier College played a huge role in my life. I became an instrument for community development and education which gave me confidence in dealing with my patients later as a physician.
Rick Ross, Labourer-Teacher, late '60s to early '70s
I’m honoured to support our Literacy Ambassadors as they champion literacy in their communities nationwide.
