The Opportunity 

We are currently seeking a Resource Development Advisor (RDA) to support the delivery of our Programming nationally and help the organization fulfil key aspects of our 2025-2029 Strategic Plan. The RDA will be responsible for researching and creating new digital tools and resources that improve our program teams’ abilities to deliver high-impact programming in our target communities. Additionally, the RDA will work as part of a team that continually improves and shares existing materials, supporting program teams with change management processes to ensure better adoption of resources and organizational tools such as Salesforce.  

This position will be part of the National Information Systems & Analytics team and report to the Director, Information Systems & Analytics. The Resource Development Advisor will work collaboratively with other UFL teams (e.g. National Programs Support Team) to provide the necessary support for program staff from coast to coast to coast. The position is a contract role (Year 1 - 1.0 FTE, Year 2 - 0.5 FTE) supporting a two year project and is mainly remote work but may involve travel to program sites, meetings or training sessions across the country. 

Your Main Responsibilities and Major Duties  

1. Resource Development (40%) 

• Continuous consultation with relevant internal stakeholders to customize new and improve existing resources, materials and tools for optimal program delivery  
• Collaborate with internal and external resources to design, edit and/or translate high-quality sharable digital materials across multiple platforms 
• Support the next stage of expansion of United for Literacy’s digital resource library (“The Hive”) to include content that supports tutoring children and youth. 

2. Knowledge Sharing & Training (40%) 

• Collaborate with regional program teams to learn about and expand upon existing program support materials
• Create and deliver training on materials/tools/policies and processes for internal program teams 
• Support change management initiatives within the organization, particularly regarding the use of new digital tools  
• Coordinate the publishing of existing resources on UFL website and resource library, including developing an internal system of collating and editing material for the Hive.  

3. Evaluation, Reporting & Administration (20%) 

• Support the work of the Information Systems & Analytics team as required 
• Track and monitor partner activities directly and via regional teams 
• Support collection and support the writing of reports to funders 

Skills, Attributes and Requirements  

• Knowledge of developing, implementing and evaluating effective educational resources 
• High level of digital proficiency (Microsoft Office, Canva, Salesforce) and significant experience with our key digital tools and platforms (FormAssembly, MS Forms, Salesforce). 
• Experience conducting training workshops for various audiences. 
• Understanding of non-profit program development, community outreach, project management, and workshop development best practices. 
• Excellent writing and editing skills.  
• Able to think critically, solve problems and manage details. 
• Self-directed and organized 
• Work well independently and as part of a team. 
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience 
• University degree or equivalent experience. 

Additional Assets (Preferred)  

• Bilingual (English and French) 
• Non-profit work experience 

Working with United for Literacy 

• Hours of Work: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (some evening or weekend hours required)
