Online Programs
- Reading Circle (Virtual via Zoom) - Grades 4-6, 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
- Mondays starting February 2nd until March 30th.
- Reading Circle is a fun and interactive program designed to help learners build confidence and enjoyment in reading and writing. Through guided discussions, creative writing activities, and engaging with texts, participants explore stories together while strengthening comprehension, vocabulary, and communication skills. Learners are encouraged to share ideas, think critically, and express themselves in a supportive and collaborative environment.
- Coding 4 Kids (Virtual via Zoom) - Grades 4-6, 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
- Tuesdays starting February 3rd until March 31st.
- Coding 4 Kids introduces learners to the basics of coding through hands-on, interactive lessons using Scratch, a beginner-friendly platform widely used by educators. Learners will design games, animations, and stories while developing problem-solving, creativity, and logical thinking skills. No prior coding experience is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to learn!
- Number Ninjas (Virtual via Zoom) - Grades 1-3, 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
- Thursdays starting February 5th until April 2nd.
- Number Ninjas helps learners build strong math foundations through fun, fast-paced games and challenges. Learners practice key math skills such as addition, subtraction, patterning and other math concepts. With a focus on learning through play, students become “math ninjas” using stealth, speed, and skill.
In-Person Programs
- Reading Buddies (In-Person at the North Bay Public Library) - Grades 1-4, 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
- Wednesdays starting February 4th until April 1st
- Reading Buddies pairs learners with supportive United for Literacy tutors for guided reading and language-based activities. This program focuses on building reading confidence, fluency, and comprehension in a welcoming and encouraging setting. Through games, storytelling, and one-on-one support, learners strengthen their literacy skills while developing a positive relationship with reading.
- WhizKids (In-Person at the North Bay Public Library) - Grades 4-6, 6 pm to 7 pm.
- Wednesdays starting February 4th until April 1st.
- WhizKids reinforces math and literacy skills through engaging games, group challenges, and hands-on activities. Learners are encouraged to think critically, collaborate with peers, and apply their skills creatively. This program supports academic growth while making learning fun and interactive in a structured, supportive environment.
