Volunteers are the heartbeat of our literacy services. Each year, over 1,500 volunteers give thousands of hours to United for Literacy. They tutor math, reading, and writing; read stories at our Reading Tents; help with special events; and more. We are always looking for more people to volunteer with us. Below are the programs in Manitoba currently seeking volunteers.

One learner shared, “S. [instructor-coordinator] is the only reason I passed my grade 12 math. I was really struggling and I wouldn't have been able to do it. This is a great program.” Another reflected, “I’ve needed help with Math and English all year... I said to myself, ‘I could go to that. Why don’t I go?’ Now I wish I had gone a lot earlier.” These voices reflect the transformative power of Learn Outside the Box, and with your support, we can reach even more learners who are ready to rewrite their futures.
