Looking for rewarding summer job? United for Literacy is hiring 2 Summer Reading Programming Leads to plan and deliver summer literacy programming throughout the communities of Truro and Millbrook First Nation.

The opportunity:
Under the supervision of the Community Coordinator, both Summer Reading Programming Leads will plan and deliver reading programming to children ages 5-12 throughout the summer months. Programming will involve 1:1 and small group reading support as well as several one-time events throughout the communities of Truro and Millbrook First Nation.
The summer reading programming is designed to help children become strong readers, have fun while learning during the summer months,provide access to quality books, and help them return to school ready and confident to succeed in September.
In the first week of the internship, training will be provided on how to work with children, how we learn to read, and tutor strategies. As well, ongoing support and skills development will be provided by the Community Coordinators.

This position is funded through Canada Summer Jobs. Applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of employment, and must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have been granted refugee status in Canada.
Some remote work will be required. First aid training is preferred by not required.
Access to a car or reliable transportation is necessary, mileage will be reimbursed.
