United for Literacy is a national registered charity offering FREE literacy and numeracy programs to children, youth, and adults who need extra support to succeed in the mainstream school system, in the workplace, or in life.
Literacy touches virtually every aspect of our lives and has a great influence on our well-being. Effectively using the printed word in daily life is essential to fully engaging in society and achieving one’s personal goals. Yet people of all ages—even whole communities—face unique barriers to being fully literate which fuels poverty, poor health, and major social challenges.
We ask that you to consider including United for Literacy at your regular customer trivia night. Your support will help people develop or improve literacy and numeracy skills to reach their goals and fulfill their dreams.
How you can make a difference by hosting a trivia night
Let us know you would like to support United for Literacy at your event. We will provide:
- A logo for your promo material
- A donation box and a prepaid envelope
- Buttons for your host(s) and players
- Instructions on how to include United for Literacy in your trivia night. We'll also send a list of trivia questions for a literacy-focused bonus round!
- Ask your guests to donate $5, $10, or $20 (or more) to participate. OR You can donate a portion of the night's proceeds. Guests who would like to donate monthly can do so at unitedforliteracy.ca/support.
- When the event is over, please send the funds raised by cheque, online or EFT to United for Literacy. All proceeds will support our literacy programs across Canada.
