Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing the way many of us live our lives. Predictive text and other programs are causing people to look at the connection between technology and people through a new lens. AI is already prolific in our daily lives, yet many questions remain.
How can we use AI effectively and ethically? What basic skills—like reading, writing, and math—do we need to use AI impactfully? Can AI help to eliminate education inequities, or will it deepen the divide? Can it be used to advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion in our increasingly polarized world?
United for Literacy’s National Forum on Literacy and AI will begin to address some of these complex questions. We turn a critical eye to AI while also being mindful of the possibilities it represents. With over a century of experience in the field of literacy, United for Literacy is proud to be part of the conversation. Read the discussion paper to find out more.
Join us on Thursday, October 5 at 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. ET for an important forum discussion with a special appearance from ChatGPT. From 2:35 to 3:15 p.m. ET connect with our panelists in breakout rooms to continue the conversation.
